Do deep teeth cleanings hurt?

Hey there r/Dentistry, I'm getting a deep teeth cleaning on soon, while having braces. My braces are half mode over, with only 6 months left. Will this deep teeth cleaning hurt? Practise I have to go numbed, and if so, how will they numb me?

To be honest I've never had one done by a dentist only I can tell u the periodontist who did mine made it feel similar zip compared to the dentist.

All these comments are something special, yes regular dentist offices do them all the time. You're usually numbed with injections of a local anesthetic but non always depending on the severity. I numb about 90% of my deep cleaning patients only for comfort. You can't feel anything. Once the numbing wears off your gums might exist a footling sore for a few days just that's it. Sometimes people utilise a topical gel instead of injections but it doesn't work as well.

I just got mine washed at my regular dentist. Actually her dental hygienist did it, and information technology was fine. I but had it done yesterday (left side second appointment ) at a normal hygienist. It doesn't hurt at all. It feels but similar a normal cleaning but with Novocain. The side by side day, and I have no pain at all.
