Ruger 10/22 - How do we clean without disassembling?

Hey Guys,
How do you guys clean your 10/22s without taking the rifle apart? I have a cleaning rod but not sure how that's gonna work.

Boresnake every now and then . Take the action apart when I notice it feeling grity or it misbehaves .

Just lock the bolt back and spray WD40, CRC 5.56, brake cleaner or whatever in there to flush the shit out.
Or you can go to the gunshop and buy something for four times the price to do the same job.

There's no magic potions needed just because it's gun, not a car part.

Full of shit

This is my 10/22 maintenance regime:
1. Throw on ground

2. Stand on one end so it doesn't wiggle away from ya

3. Hose the crap out of it with high pressure hose

4. Give it a bit of a scrub with a broom and sunlight soap

5. Give it a rinse

6. Place back in Ute with heater on full to dry

Job done (seriously)

Get a hole in he back of the reciever for a cleaning rod.... Great idea but you still need to take it apart cos the bolt in the way isn't it....
Only thing I would add to above suggestions, whip the stock of every dozen or so trips and clean out the debris that's built up, depends where I go though

dont use remington ammo is the first thing or you be cleaning crap out of it every time you use it.
just clean the barrel after use, if the trigger starts feeling gritty then clean it out with a decent solvent and lightly oil it.
avoid unnecessary dismantling !

Yup, only ammo I ever use is CCI.
Follow up question regarding that, people say CCI 'sub' is better for 10/22 than CCI Standard Velocity, is that just for sound or for cleaning/quality as well?

I thought they were just the same, but with different projectile, ie hollowpoint

i use cci sub and high velocity, both are clean burning with low residue

Okay just gonna piggy back on this thread instead of making new one. For my Bolt action Ruger, which way do I insert the cleaning rod, I am using patch loops, jag and bore mop. Do I push the stick from the chamber and it exits out the muzzle, or into the muzzle and exit out the chamber?

Same way the bullet goes, take bolt out and run it from chamber to muzzle, make sure you use a bore guide as well

Just pull it apart and youtube it back together. I do that to mine every 2nd big box of cci std.
